It is well established that for a cultural community to prosper and contribute significantly to society as a whole, it is essential that it feel comfortable and secure in its cultural identity. And one of the best ways to insure that feeling of inner peace and stability in the long run is for the community to teach its young to be proud of their cultural heritage from the earliest age possible. The Islamic community is fortunate that it can teach its youth about spectacular advances that the Islamic civilization contributed to the world over several centuries, much of which can still be seen in today’s modern science and technology, as well as in modern arts and humanities.
